Tradeshow shoes
By far the most popular post from last year's blog was the "shoe post." I've had several people request a reprise, but despite my protestations that the shoe post was so "Minneapolis" or so "2004," they insisted. So, I figured who am I not to give the readers what they want.
Thanks a lot. It's truly an embarrassing post to do, walking around asking if you can take pictures of people's feet. I got slapped twice after being accused of having a particular fetish, but I did get one marraige proposal (no, not really, just an attempt at humor by one very tired blogger).
So, without further fanfare, here are the shoes I noticed on the show floor at the 2005 Annual Meeting:

Amy Everett from the Retail Solutions Providers Association. I asked her to stop by the bookstore to see if any of her members might have some cash registers that could help the flow of traffic.

Pamela Watkins from the Beaches of South Walton. She got them at a little store that started in Florida, Chicos. She calls it the "travel outfit store."

Mary Schaefer, CAE from the Illinois Association of Realtors. "Nordstrom's. Of course. Only Nordstrom's for this show."

Jill Podlech from the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education. Are they sensible for a trade show? "I think they are." And, no, her feet weren't cold.

Carol Leveroni from the California Association for Nurse Practitioners. The picture doesn't do these shoes justice; they sparkled as if she had diamonds on the tops her shoes.

Gina Ballard with PCI. Now, are those sensible tradeshow shoes? Gina didn't have a chance to answer, as her coworker chimed in, "No, they are not!" Do your feet hurt? "YES!"

Sandy Rice from the Convention Visitors Bureau of Greater Monroeville. Yes, they did go with the booth decor so technically they violated one of my goals, which was no costume shoes. I just couldn't resist the patriotism.

CJ Manuel from Marriott. Sensible? "Sure, it's important to look your best."

Our very own Liz Jackson from The Center for Association Leadership Board of Directors. Wow, these shoes leave me speechless.
What no men? Is that what you're thinking? Maybe I should have been slapped, huh?
Fortunately, I did run across one male shoe that absolutely belongs on the blog:

Geoffrey Mason from DoubleTree. "You should see the red ones."
And to prove the point, I took another photo of a man's "shoe."

Noah St. John from The Success Clinic. His excuse was that he had just from a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Sorry for making fun, Noah, thanks for being a good sport.
